Laura Jespersen Original acrylic paintings, postcards, stickers Laura Jean Jespersen is an award winning acrylic artist living and working in Ventura. She draws inspiration from the built and natural environment with a painterly realistic style. Dennis Morton Original paintings, oil on canvas After 40 years as a flooring craftsman, Dennis discovered that the brush offered an alternative creative outlet on canvas surfaces. A longtime Ventura resident, he often depicts local area landmarks in his work and hopes they may welcome the viewer to reflect on fond memories. Gerry Wilson Photographic prints on wood An experienced fine art photographer who previously operated his own studio in Hollywood, Wilson has created a new beach collection of fine art printing on wood, allowing the grain and knots of the wood to become part of the image making. Each print is truly a work of “One of a Kind Panoramic Beach Art”. Steve Thomas Vintage style Ventura travel posters and canvas prints Visit Ventura partnered with Thomas to develop a beautiful series of vintage style posters capturing the heart, soul and allure of Ventura. Thomas’ style is heavily influenced by the 1930’s art Deco movement. Kelly Bell Watercolor paintings and driftwood wreaths At a young age Kelly Bell’s mother encouraged creativity by teaching her how to knit, sew, draw, and make random art out of whatever was laying around her house, yard or the beach. Now, Kelly enjoys watercolor and loves capturing landscapes, flowers, beach scenes and other subjects that inspire and bring joy. While at the beach, Kelly collects driftwood and other “treasures from the sand”, and creates wreaths adorned with seashells and sea glass. Nancy Maxson Beaded necklaces and bracelets A lifelong lover of all things crafted, Nancy had for many years doubted her own skills and envied those of other crafters. About five years ago all of that changed when a friend showed her how to crochet beaded necklaces. Suddenly, she had found something that she could “craft” and enjoy making. The bracelets came shortly afterwards. Nancy enjoys choosing her beads, looking for and collecting them wherever she goes, and spends many hours a week designing and crocheting or stringing her jewelry. She hopes that it brings joy!
