Lauren Forbes
Lauren’s body of work reflects her love of color. She is greatly inspired by both the untamed freedom and the deeply grounding serenity that permeates God’s natural wilderness. Her paintings reflect the beauty and magic she finds exploring on the trails as well as her travels along the coast or to foreign countries. These are the moments where she feels perfectly present and in the here and now. Nothing brings Lauren more joy than to capture a moment where time stood still, because she believes the present moment is where the real magic is revealed. She wants her art to allow the viewer to explore the beauty on the canvas and compare it to the beauty that exists in the world around us and that also exists within ourselves. Lauren’s desire is for her paintings to allow everyone to feel the true joy and interconnectivity of what it means to be alive. Lauren Forbes is a Fine Artist/Muralist, married to the love of her life, living in Ventura County. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting, and ceramic sculpture graduating from UC Berkeley. Throughout her life she has accrued over twenty years of professional fine arts training in many mediums, such as ceramics, watercolor, colored pencil, oil and acrylic painting, which has been her favorite medium of choice as of late. Over the past decade she has spent time advancing her own artist’s portfolio, creating commercial murals and teaching painting classes to children of all ages and adults.
