Moby’s on Main, 369 E Main St. will be mounting its first solo artist exhibit in its two exterior window display spaces. Further artworks are also hung deep in the interior of this exciting and colorful ‘Action Environment’ full of beloved and current arcade games including air hockey, pinball and retro games.
Award-winning Ventura artist d truthsayer will be exhibiting a new body of work that winks to cubism, surrealism, and hard-edge contemporary art. The artist has taken a departure from past work showing incisive depictions of species in their environments to now head in a more playful direction; embracing the beauty of materials, suggestive shapes, fanciful color, and evocative imagery, these works also contain deeper conceptual commentary and ideas that emerge during viewing. Strong colors, fluid paintwork, fluorescent and luminescent color additions, and 3-D surfaces -along with object inclusions- make this a particularly current and striking exhibit. d truthsayer is a graduate of the UCLA Studio Art program, and whose art has been displayed in Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Ventura galleries and venues.
