ArtWalk Ventura 2016 California Street Stage Performance Schedule
One of the many highlights of ArtWalk Ventura is always the concert series presented by Ventura College. Located right in the middle of all the ArtWalk venues and PODS® Containers, this stage makes a perfect spot to break and catch some entertainment before you head to your next exhibit. Expect to find a range of music, dance, and stage performances that culminating with performance from the Ventura College Symphony Orchestra. There is also a special film screening immediately following the performance.

11:00 AM - Solo Jazz and Flamenco Guitar: Professor Cesar Mateus will demonstrate styles and techniques
12:00 PM- Students from Ventura College Dance Department performing new choreographs under the direction of Becky Contreras. The new pieces are titled Friends On my own, Conflict, Movin', Horn Pipe, Fall Concert Preview and A Day's Work
1:00 PM - Ventura College Percussion Ensemble Performing "Toccata" by Mexican Composer Carlos Chavez
1:30 PM - Classical Guitar Solo Ventura College Professor Carlos Gonzales performing solo selections form Latin American Composers
1:45 PM - Students from Ventura College Music Department selections for classical guitar
2:00 PM - Trio featuring members of Ventura College Orchestra True Randall on Clarinet, Trisha Merete on flute and Allyn Tolosa on bassoon will Perform Kummer’s "Woodwind Trio."
2:30 PM - Ventura College String Orchestra Performs "Concerto Grosso in G minor" by Antonio Vivaldi and "Sinfonia in F" by Giovanni Sammartini. Robert Lawson, Director
3:15 PM - Ventura College Jazz Nonet ensemble performing four Jazz standards "Autumn Leaves", "Sit down and listen",

4:00 PM - Ventura College Chamber Singers. Brent Wilson, Director
4:15 PM - Ventura College Choir performing "Cantata Domino" by Hassler and "Amazing Grace" Arranged by Proulx . Elizabeth Helms, Director
4:30 PM - Solo VC Music majors, applied lessons, past /present VC faculty, and new music from Ventura College Composers Scott Avendano and Scott McMahan
7:30 PM - Ventura College Symphony Orchestra "A Night in Mexico" Orchestral Works from Mexican Composers Arturo Marquez "Danzon No 2", Carlos Chavez "Symphony No. 2", Ernesto Lacuna "Gitanerias & Malaguena" and Night in Mexico – Paul Creston
8:30 PM - International Film Fest "Bad Hair" A Film about Racism and Homophobia in Latin America. Hosted by Maline Werness-Rude. A short One Act Film By Ventura College Students (this film will also be playing all day Saturday and Sunday in the Ventura College ArtWalk POD).
