Brent Hanson Studio
Original bold, colorful, expressive, abstract landscape, florals, figurative, and non-representational paintings by Brent Hanson.
My goal for my art is to express emotion, interpret beauty, or to comment about life and humanity. Whether it is a scene reminiscent of an earthly place, expressive floral or figurative work, or a non-representational abstract; imagination and emotion provide the inspiration.
Award-winning artist and native Californian, Brent Hanson paints bold, vivid, colorful, and intense arboreal works, florals, abstract figurative works and non-representational abstracts. He credits starting to paint in late 2009 with helping him find more balance in life. Generally a studio painter, Hanson paints in mostly in acrylic from imagination, dreams, and emotions. He uses a palate that is a little different from the traditional color wheel that is based on the color system used in printers.
Hanson has trained under several local and internationally renowned artists including Carolyn Counnas, Robert Burridge, and Nathan Fowkes. He has completed course work at the California Art Institute in Westlake Village, CA, the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, and the Kline Academy of Fine Art in Los Angeles and continues to study painting in classes and workshops from artists whose work he admires.
