Thank You From The Ventura County Potters' Guild and Project Understanding

The Ventura County Potters' Guild would like to thank everyone that came down to the Ventura Harbor storefront to purchase one of a kind ceramics for the Project Understanding/ArtWalk Ventura Bowl Hop.  The presale was a resounding success, and we are now moving the remainder of the bowls over to the Collectors' Reception tonight.  If we don't sell out tonight, the last few bowls will be available over the event this weekend. The Bowl Hop tent will be outside Albinger Archaeological Museum (next to Mission).

Bowl Hop is a part of ArtWalk where handmade ceramic bowls created by local artists will be on sale for $25 each. Your purchase of each bowl includes a ticket entitling the bearer to sample a wide variety of downtown Ventura restaurants during ArtWalk.

More about the Project Understanding Bowl Hop:

• Local artists have created bowls and donated them to Project Understanding.
• Bowl Hop patrons purchase one-of-a-kind handmade bowls during the week leading up to ArtWalk and during ArtWalk weekend for $25. Patrons may pick up their bowls at the pre-sale event at the Potters’ Guild (11am-6pm through Thursday, July 16) in the Harbor or at ArtWalk.
• Patrons receive a punch card when they buy their bowl listing the names of all participating restaurants, their location and the food they are offering during the event. Patrons receive their punch cards at ArtWalk or by email if purchased online.
• With your support the Food Pantry at Project Understanding provides groceries once a month to families whose budget cannot support the purchase of their own.

How It Works

• The handmade bowls are symbolic and not used for food sampling. Instead, Bowl Hop patrons are instructed to take only the punch card to the participating restaurants in order to receive their serving of food.
• Bowl Hop patrons may visit some or all of the restaurants listed on the punch card during normal business hours on Saturday, July 18th and Sunday, July 19th.
• Bowl Hop patrons receive their serving of food in a take-out container unless they plan to order additional items off the menu.
• Bowl Hop donors are entitled to one serving of each food item offered and the punch card is used keep track of that.
