Here at ArtWalk Ventura, we have been so overwhelmed with all of the positive response surrounding this year's event, especially everything associated with the Havana to Ventura street mural project. Aside from the sheer amount of work that has gone into making this collaboration piece between Pedro Pulido and MB Hanrahan happen, there is a very unique backstory that adds even more appeal. So many people have put forth a lot effort into this project, but we have to mention that Patti Channer and Sue Pollack have been absolutely vital to its success. Both were recently featured on the TDCstudios show "Schmooze With Suz", and they had a chance to share the experiences and challenges associated with putting together an international art program of this magnitude. Watch the whole show to get an in-depth look at ArtWalk and the Havana To Ventura project. Here is a bit of tease: You'll find out this project has roots that go back to the late 90s, but the seed really blossomed when Patti and Sue where in Havana in 2014-- on the day diplomatic relations with Cuba were normalized.
These are exciting times we live in... pretty amazing that ArtWalk Ventura is playing such a big part. Thank you Patti & Sue! For the complete 2015 ArtWalk schedule, click here.
